Coolest Rock App

Choose your song, plug your guitar and ROCK ! Works transparently with your iTunes library. You can modify the pitch, the speed of the backing track and set your guitar to various amps, cabinets and effects. Really cool. Known glitches have been addressed by the developers team, that also provide excellent customer support. Great app to Rock with just your guitar and your iPhone/iPad. I recommend :)

If youre looking to shed to your iPod library, this is it!

As of this writing, this is the only amp simulator of which Im aware that permits native access to the iPads internal iPod music library. (Other apps either skip this feature, or require you to separately copy music on a file-by-file basis.) In my opinion, this feature alone make PocketAmp a must-have. Im using this software with the iRig adapter. The guitar amp models seem usable for practice, though admittedly, Ive been using it for electric bass and only briefly tried it with a Strat. The developer is very helpful and quick to respond, and this give me great hope that PocketAmp will just keep getting better and better.

A simple user friendly amp for all device

Pocket amp is a simple app with tons of potential. The key component of this app is non other than the function for playing along your iPod library. I just wish there was more presets. Im sure it will get better overtime. If you dont want to spend a bunch for a complicated amp simulator, pocket amp is the way to go.

Distortion & Playback

Im using iRig and with the blues or rock and metal amp settings the songs I played along to sounded very distorted.I think you need to find a way to separate the amp for the guitar and the amp for music tracks.Otherwise a cool app.Something like a tube screamer would be nice.

Great Sound!

I purchased Pocket amp about 6 months ago. After trying many other guitar amp APPs for the iPhone I decided on Pocket amp because I love the sound and tonal quality it gave to my guitar. I have stopped using my regular amp and now run Pocket amp through amplified speakers. Great sound with lots of effects. The developer seems to really care about customer feedback and is very quick to respond to your communications. Give it a try, its the best guitar amp APP out there!

Excellent Product

Cable is excellent App is easy to use with some great tones!

love it

love it. use it for practice and gigs. 1 touch presets for ease of change and name description make for fast on the fly change.

I luv it

Its way cheeper then a real amp

Track volume please!!!

Good distorted sounds but please add the possibility to raise the volume of the ipod track!!! Same for your GK bass amp. Thank you!!

Awesome tool for practice and rocking out

This app is a must have for all guitar players! Whether you are a metalhead or someone inclined towards lighter tones this app has that for you. At first I thought this was going to be just an amp simulator (which it is...crank the metal setting!) but it is also a sweet learning tool. You can play along to any song on your iPhone and hone your skills. In my case it was Slayer but I guess other bands are worthy too. This app also features several effects such as delay, reverb, flange, etc. Buy it, plug in and rock out!

this company has gone around reviewing all competition as poor.

as Im comparing all of the similar apps, Ive noticed that someone from this company has poorly rated all competition. I"m not a fan of that kind of marketing.

I want to like it, but........

Was really looking forward to its simplicity and functionality, but it does not work very well. Running on iPhone 3Gs, 32 gig, latest OS. Lights off ok and can move from screen to screen, but works quite erratically. Have nothing else running which might interfere with its operation. Am going to contact company for help and to report poor performance. Regarding mentioning other manufacturers - people, people, this not a bad thing. Our country is based on good competitive business. It is a good thing that reviewers compare different products and companies in these types of forums so readers can benefit from others experiences. It helps us to form an opinion of how one product / company stacks up against another. We do this every day in life - from comparing tooth brushes to cars to whatever. I would only recommend that we as readers be fair in our assessments and written reviews, and to give developers the opportunity to "get it righ"t. An important part of any product is how well the company steps up to the plate to resolve customer issues. I look forward to interfacing with this company and getting this app to work. Stay tuned for my updated review. 100khz

Great for jamming

The amp simulations are not nearly as good as some of the competitors, but the fact that you can access and jam along with your entire iPod library (including protected AAC) makes it a worthy option.

Great amp and effect proccesor for iphone

Pocketamp is a great practice tool for all guitarist. The simple design yet many features allows me to dial up many different sound combinations, as well as save them as programable presets. I really enjoy the delay, which has the longest delay time of any of the guitar apps out their. I would like to see a loop effect for setting up different grooves and patterns for practicing over. The ability to play along with any song in my itunes library is awesome as well.

Not quite...there... Just Yet...

Some good features: Really Cool Rotary Effect Access to iPod Library for Play-along Ability to Save Presets Decent Artwork Easy to Use Things that need more work: Poor tone quality compared to other amp simulation apps Some nasty sounding internal digital feedback when device volume is on full That said, Its worth the price, and the developer seems committed to quality updates. As a side note to the developer, keep developing: This has some good unique features. However, I agree with Esperando reviewers should mention other comparable apps provided they give the app in review some usable feedback. It helps users make better decisions and lets developers know what users want. SO...If you like guitar direct audio input apps like PocketAmp, try Ampkit, Amplitube, Amps & Cabs, & RiotFx and iShred Live. Theyre all worth getting because they all have different features and tones. ROCK ON!

It worked, far from perfect though...

I currently have amplitube running on my iPad but was disappointed that I couldnt play along w/ my iTunes library. After seeing that this app is compatible w/ the iRig accessory (along w/ instant access to my tunes), I decided to go ahead and download. First off, the app works -- nothing great, it just works. Immediately, I noticed you have to crank the apps volume to get any sound from your guitar / bass (also must have iPhone volume blasted) and this results in a noisy hiss every time a note is played or held. It goes away when not playing. Another issue is the artwork w/ in the music player tab -- the forward, play, previous buttons should grow in height and not be so compressed, something about this tab UI seems like a cheesy rip off of the iPod app. Like other users have mentioned, please add better guitar tones or a way to dial in a better tone. When playing along to my tunes, it just sounded a bit like butt. Please update soon -- Im sure this app has promise! Im running an iPhone 4 w/ the latest software.

Absolutely fantastic. I wasted $20 on Amplitube and could not get my songs in the app to practice with. Then I waste $3 on Ishred and could get the songs in, but the amp sound was terrible. This app has the best of both. Good sound, easy access to your songs, looks great on IPad as well. A tuner would have been nice. Other then that, all I can say is thanks!

Great easy app!

It may not be as versatile as some of the other high-dollar apps or have as polished an interface, but it does exactly what its supposed to. While the unusable Peavey app has incessant squealing feedback and AmpliTube breaks the bank with expensive add ons, PocketAmp is simple, stylish and sounds better than either of the other two. No recording feature, but its great for just practicing or jamming. Works well with the iRig adaptor. Nicely done.

Love it, but....

This is the real deal, works like it should...very user friendly! However, for working musicians, it would be GREAT to have a time counter AND an A-B LOOP (to choose the looped section) to learn phrases. Man, that would ROCK! Otherwise great app!!
